About Rita Holt:

Our newly elected Trustee for Medina Township, Rita Holt, is not new on the political scene. Rita and her husband Ralph have lived in Medina Township since 1966. Their daughter (Sandy) and son (Dan), both now married, grew up in Medina Township.

Ralph and Rita are members of St. Francis Xavier Church in Medina and were married there in 1964.

Rita's political experience is quite extensive. She served on the Medina Township Zoning Commission for almost twenty years, Assistant Zoning Inspector for two years and as a Medina Township Trustee for eight years.

Rita has also served on diversified commissions including the following:

• President Medina County Township Association
• Medina County Township Association's Executive and Legislative Committees
• Medina County Planning Commission
• Medina County Farmland Preservation Task Force
• Medina County Community Guide and Financial Committee
• Transportation Improvement District Subcommittee
• Rt. 18 Steering Committee
• Medina Township Fire Commissioner
• Medina Township Liaison for LST Service

Rita is also a member of the following organizations:

• Ohio Farm Bureau
• Western Reserve Land Conservancy
• Buckeye Sheriff's Association

Rita has attended CWRU and extension courses through OSU.

Some of Rita's goals are to help restore the general fund without increased taxes while completing unfinished township projects. Having served as Chairman of the Zoning Commission during writing of the previous Comprehensive Plan, Rita is looking forward to the coordination of the new plan with the old. Another major concern for Rita is "traffic management". Former traffic management plans are not working well and there is a significant need to correct these plans.

Rita's philosophy has always been "we need to serve ALL the residents and businesses of the township" and ALL should be treated with respect. Rita believes that "together" with the Trustees, residents and businesses, we will be able to accomplish many positive goals for our township.

Rita was endorsed by the Ohio League of Conservation Voters.

About Michael D. Todd:

Mike Todd, chairman of the Medina Township Board of Trustees, is currently in his first term as a member of the board.  He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and Case Law School.  During his military career, Mike served along the DMZ in Korea, and in Central America on drug interdiction missions.  Today Mike is an attorney, working as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Criminal Division for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office.

As a member of the Medina Township Board of Trustees, Mike has focused his energies on creating a Township website to provide up to date information to Township residents about crucial issues confronting the Township, working on updating the Township’s comprehensive plan to bring it into the 21^st Century, and implementing economic controls to ensure the Township lives within its budget.  As a Trustee, Mike serves as the township’s Police Commissioner and provides extensive constituent services.  Mike takes pride in his proactive leadership and accessibility; he encourages all Medina Township residents to contact him with their concerns and questions about issues impacting them.

Mike lives on Cook Road with his wife, Wendy, and his two young daughters, Eva and Giselle.
