Chief Arbogast
joined the Medina Township Police Department in November of 2002.
Prior to his appointment as Chief he served as Chief of Richfield
Township. He has worked in Law
Enforcement since 1977. He
holds a master degree in Public Administration, A bachelors of Science in
Technical Education and as Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from the
Sgt. Mangel began her career with the Medina Township Police Department in 1997 after graduating the police academy. She has held the position of Sergeant since 1999 and has specialized training in drug interdiction and identification, investigation and interrogation techniques, advanced traffic stop techniques, dealing with the mentally ill and numerous other fields. She has served as a field training officer and has helped with the training of new recruits in the academy.
She is a high
school graduate of Villa Angela –
Sgt.
Mangel’s interests include reading, photography and animals and she enjoys
spending time with her family and friends.
Sgt. Zieja joined the Medina Township Police Department in 1994, he was promoted to Sergeant in 1997 and he was hired as the first full time officer in January 2000. He graduated from Cloverleaf High School while attending the Law Enforcement Program at the Medina County Career Center. After he completed the Basic Peace Officer Academy Training at Cuyahoga Community College, he returned as an instructor for the academy. Todd holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelors degree in Political Science / Criminal Justice as well as a Masters Degree in Public administration from the University of Akron. Todd completed the Police Executive Leadership College in 2007, which is an intense course for today's leaders. He holds numerous certifications in many areas.
Officer J.A. Linsker, #1510
Officer Linsker joined the Medina Township Police Department in 2012, bringing with him over 30 years of law enforcement experience at the township, city, county and federal levels. Officer Linsker has a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University and a Juris Doctor degree from Capital University Law School. He is also a certified Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Instructor and holds numerous law enforcement certifications.
Officer Oyler joined the Medina Township Police Department in November of
2006, bringing with him over ten years of experience. He began his
career as a Police Officer in 1996 with the Dalton Police Department in
Wayne County. He is also a Special Deputy U.S. Marshal assigned to the
Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. He is the departments
investigator for identity theft, domestic violence, sexual assault and child
abuse cases, and is a member of the Medina County Domestic & Sexual Violence
Taskforce. He has specialized training in Drug Facilitated Sexual Assaults,
Interviewing and Interrogation Techniques and Crisis Intervention to name a
few. Upon Graduating from the Canal Fulton Northwest High School in 1992, he
attended Kent State University, studying criminal justice and is a veteran
of the Ohio Army National Guard. Officer Oyler obtained his student pilot
certification and enjoys flying in his spare time. He and his wife have two
children.
Officer Hallie Beardsworth joined the Medina Township Police Department in
January 2012. She began her law enforcement career interning with the Toledo
Police Department in the summer of 2008. Officer Beardsworth attended
Bowling Green State University and graduated in December 2009 with a
bachelors degree in criminal justice. She earned her OPOTA certification
from the Medina County Police Academy in June 2011 and graduated with
perfect attendance. She is proud to be part of the Medina Township Police
Department and looks forward to a successful career serving and protecting
the citizens of Medina Township.
Officer Harvey joined the Medina Township Police Department in January

Officer Nicholson joined the MTPD in 2004. He attended Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College earning an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement & Corrections. Nicholson graduated from the Toledo Police Academy Headquarters. While attending College in 2002 he worked as an on campus Security Officer and a Police Officer for the Village of Woodville. He holds specialized certifications in Advanced Interview and Interrogation methods, Investgations of Sexual Assaults, Drug Identification/NIK Testing, Crisis Intervention approaches as well as AED & CPR certified. He’s a Reserve Deputy with Medina Co. Sheriff’s Office as a part of the Medina Co. OVI Task Force. Nicholson is MTPD state certified field training officer & Taser Instructor. Since 2002 holds a position in private security for a local corporation. He is an aggressive Traffic Officer who typically works the evening shifts while continuing to protect & serve the growing community of Medina Township.

Officer Bynum joined the Medina Township Police Department in December 2009,
bringing with him over nine years of experience. He began his career in 2001
with the Grafton Police Department, where he also currently works. Officer
Bynum graduated from Midview High School in 2000 and recently completed his
Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Police Science at Lorain County
Community College. He was class President while attending Medina County
Career Center for the police academy. Officer Bynum is currently the
President of the Grafton Police Benevolent Association and a member of both
the FOP and OPBA.

Laurie Shoemaker, Administrative Assistant to the Chief of
Police, has been with Medina Township Police Department since November 2006.
Laurie has worked with Chief Arbogast writing grants for the department and
has successfully been awarded close to $100,000 for equipment and the “Cops
Care” Program. Among the
many tasks she performs for the department are overseeing the records
department and coordinating community events for the Township.
