To protect and serve the community in its quest for a peaceful and safe existence, free from fear, and with democratic values applied equally to all citizens!
We believe that policing should be interactive, results-oriented process between the police and the community. The process is information driven and should create partnerships between the police employees, the department and those we serve: Identify problems that impact the quality of life in the community, devise strategies to address those problems: and work collaboratively to sole them by utilizing all resources available.

Drug Drop Off Box
We now have a drop off box in our parking lot for unused
prescription medication. We are collaborating with the Drug
Enforcement Administration on a Nationwide Drug Take Back
Initiative. The Medina Township Police Dept. supported the DEA’s
Drug Take Back Event two years in a row and the response was
pleasantly surprising. We had an amazing turnout collecting
garbage bags full of unwanted, expired prescription drugs. The
Medina County Drug Task Force (MCDTF) was awarded a grant to
fund a number of drop off boxes and offered permanent placement
of one of these boxes to The Medina Twp. Police Department,
which we were pleased to accept. Many residents and senior
citizen facilities may take advantage of disposing old or
unwanted medications. We want to reach out to individuals and
encourage them to rid their households of unused prescription
drugs that pose a safety hazard and can contribute to
prescription drug abuse. The box is positioned for residents to
easily pull up in their car and place the unused medications in
the box. Please be sure to remove any labels on the containers.

to receive community alerts. It's called Nixle (www.nixle.com)
and if you are interested in receiving alerts, please register
through the nixle website. It immediately connects you to
trusted, important information by text message, email, and over
the web. By registering, you not only get your police department
alerts and advisories, but you get to send messages to your
neighbors and connect with any community groups that you are
involved with, it's amazing. You can easily sign up by going to
www.nixle.com. Make sure
after you register to tell your friends and neighbors to sign up
too. It's the neatest new thing.
