   Shop With a Cop

A Time for Sharing.
A Memo from the Chief

Shop with a COP program works to establish and build positive relationships between police officers and the children of the community.  Children with social or economic needs as determined by social services agencies are provided with a shopping experience with a police officer.

It has been a very positive experience not only for the children involved, but also for our police officers.  The day starts, this year December 20th with breakfast, then off to shop (each child has $110), then ending the day with a pizza party lunch.

For the past six years the Media Township Police Department has worked with the Richfield Village Police Department to raise money to take as many children shopping as we can.  All money raised in Medina Township will be used to take Medina County children shopping.  All money from ticket sales goes directly to sponsor a child. The other costs are paid for out of other fundraising events held during the year.

Last year Medina Township Police Department was able to take 12 children shopping with your generous support.  This program has grown to 35 police agencies participating and 400 children going shopping (all at the same time).  It is an experience you would never forget.  My goal is to make one more child each year have a better holiday season.

I need your help!  Please consider purchasing a book of tickets 6/$5 to do your part.  You will be entered into a drawing for a High Definition TV, Garman Navigation System, or Sony Shelf CD System.  For $100 you can sponsor one child.  Wal-Mart gives $10 for each child.

If you can help call:  Laurie Shoemaker at 330-723-1408 and we will get the tickets to you.  Thank you as we share the holiday spirit.
